Confirm the current encounter
Before travelling, check the current map, server status, patch notes, and any official announcement. Record the boss name and version in your notes; it prevents a guide from a previous balance pass from becoming a hidden source of frustration.
Make the party plan explicit
Agree on a regroup point, who calls urgent mechanics, and how the group will recover after a wipe. A short plan is more valuable than unverified optimization advice.
Review after the attempt
Afterward, capture only what you observed: the phase that failed, the positioning issue, and what your group will change. Publish factual encounter notes only when they can be linked to a version and corroborated by a primary or clearly labelled community source.
